In the four years that she has held the position of digital delegate for the canton of Vaud, she has never undertaken the exercise of portraiture. Catherine Pugin is, however, the first to occupy this position created by the Council of State. An unprecedented role in Switzerland, which has inspired other cantons: Geneva, Neuchâtel and Ticino.

His interest in this function is the logical continuation of a career dedicated to digital issues. “I grew up in a family that had very early access to the internet,” she recalls. In 1996, to be precise, which was the subject of an article in the newspaper La Gruyere. Catherine Pugin’s father was a member of a computer club, a subject which interested him greatly. He even bought a Commodore 64, the first successful personal computer released in 1982.
