Kinshasa: the association of the disabled in the street to force Tshisekedi’s hand

The association of the disabled of Congo took to Boulevard du 24 this Monday, February 12, to demand from Félix Tshisekedi a change in the living conditions of its members. The men and women present at this demonstration say “no to the precariousness” they face.

The Congolese Disabled Association asks Félix Tshisekedi to ensure the integration of disabled people into society by putting in place a system in which they can feel honored and considered. According to these demonstrators, their life is reduced to begging to eat when they themselves should be seeking their own daily peace. This situation must not continue like this, they say.

“We are tired of begging for food. Felix Tshisekedi must ensure that we have decent jobs, because we are living worse and worse. Do not be surprised if we die in large numbers, because the conditions in which we live are not even a little good,” said a demonstrator speaking to Actu RDC.

Note that these men and women are awaiting a satisfactory response from the Congolese government. For them, it’s now or never.
