BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – Not all virtual reality headsets are for playing video games, some can be used to explore careers.
CareerViewXR donated hundreds of virtual reality headsets using the Be More Colorful platform.
The headsets use 360° technology so students can see the behind-the-scenes of job sites.
The headsets feature more than 65 work experiences.
The initiative comes through Job Service, EduTech and the state Career and Technical Education Platform RUReady.
“Getting students into places they would never be able to go in person— on top of the wind turbine, on top of the structural steel of a high rise as it is being constructed, inside an elevator shot. So those are all exciting. Some of the new stuff we are producing is going to be exciting as well,” said Matthew Chaussee, CEO of Be More Colorful.
He said the headsets will be distributed to every private and public middle and high school throughout the state.
The headsets were handed out at the NDCA Annual Conference.
