– It was a tough race. Today we got to experience the fluoride ban, but I think the implementation was good, it takes too long on the rampart, but I would have retaken the shot I missed. A little too much time is running out, says Hanna Öberg, who was the best Swede as eight, to SVT Sport. The skis lost their glide quite quickly.
Julia Simon, who started as number two in the short sleeve, shot full and fast and was also fast in the track. She was the first to finish and lay completely pumped up in the goal area for a long time.
Simon had to wait for Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, who was fastest in the track and came second despite a barrier. Simon won by 4.9 seconds ahead of Braisaz-Bouchet, with whom she has a legal dispute over suspected credit card fraud in the summer of 2022.
“It was a long wait”
– It’s crazy, I’m so happy, wow! It’s hard to put it into words. It was a great day for the team but on the third lap I had a bad feeling and crossed my fingers that Justine wouldn’t pass. It was a long wait, says Simon following finishing French four times at the top.
Hanna Öberg missed a shot, the fourth in standing, following waiting a long time and breathing deeply.
Elvira Öberg also had problems in the standing shooting. Twelve seconds passed between the second and third boards before she missed the fourth shot with an edge, just like older sister Hanna, who, however, had a rough miss with a two-centimeter miss.
“Gets a click shot”
– In the standing shot, I get a click shot following not being able to get the last piece out for some reason and had to start over and then the thoughts started coming and I lost a little focus, says Elvira Öberg, who points out that the French skiers had fantastic skis.
On Sunday, there is a hunt start based on today’s results.
– It was not a disaster and there is a chance at the start of the hunt, says SVT Sports expert Björn Ferry.
