The new batch of “Bib Goumand” is “diverse and eclectic”, according to the director of selection for the Michelin Guides in Benelux, Werner Loens. “These addresses, which achieve the feat of combining quality cuisine and measured prices, are a real invitation to indulge yourself.”
Brussels and Wallonia share a large majority of the new labeled addresses: six each, while three tables are in the spotlight in Flanders.
“In some restaurants, only rich people can afford two shrimp croquettes”
In the south of the country, it is in the province of Namur that most of the new “Bib” are located: “Au Phil des Saveurs” in Bois-de-Villers, “Le confessionnal” in Dinant, “Garde manger” in Gesves and once more “Mona Lisa” in Yvoir. The two other Walloon addresses are located in Cité Ardente: “Enoteca” and “Magma”.
The capital also has six new “Bib Gourmand” with “St. Kilda” in Uccle, “Le Variétés” and “L’épicier Nomad”, both in Ixelles, “Kline” in Brussels, “ANJU” in Saint- Gilles and “Yoka Tomo” in Schaerbeek.
In Flanders, the new “Bib Gourmand” are “Onslow” and “Quatre Vins”, in Bruges and “Furbetto” in Heverlee.
The red guide will reveal its ratings and new stars on Monday February 26 during a ceremony in Antwerp. “St. Kilda”, “Le Variétés”, “L’école Nomad”, “Yoka Tomo” and “Furmetto” are among the 10 new entries in this edition’s guide, alongside other restaurants that are not among the “Bib Gourmand”: “Yirmi” in Malonne, “Restaurant Rollier” in Sint-Amands, “Le Roi de Trèfle” in Namur, “L’adresse” in Bastogne and “Aster” in Brussels.
