Twenty years following having had to give up her singing lessons with Johanne Blouin due to a move linked to the stormy separation of her parents, Charlotte Tourigny “found her voice” at the blind auditions on Sunday.

In an interview, the woman who has five children at home – her two daughters from a previous union, the two boys from her current partner and a “hyphenate” baby, Thiago – speaks frankly regarding her anxiety problems. .
“There are probably people like me who have had a crappy life and who have anxiety. Maybe they say to themselves that they will never arrive [à réaliser leurs rêves], but no, we can achieve it. You just have to trust yourself,” she told the QMI Agency, speaking of the conflictual climate that reigned at home during her youth.
“We should not be ashamed to seek help and take medication. It saves lives to seek advice, and there are more anxious people than we think. If we talked to each other, if we helped each other more, we would reduce the anxiety in our community.”

I had to say goodbye to my dream of singing and to what made me feel good, because I had a very difficult childhood. Music allowed me to escape from my anxiety and my sorrows. Afterwards, I had a love-hate love for the song.
