Recovering from his operation, Ñublense forward Pedro Sánchez Sánchez.
With a past at Everton, he suffered an accident to one of his cheekbones (face), while helping his family and animals in the middle of the weekend fires in the Valparaíso Region.
In conversation with AS Chile, the footballer recounted the complex moments he experienced in the Miraflores sector, Viña del Mar, where he was bitten by a dog: “I was in Santiago for preseason with Ñublense and when everything started I only saw on television that Miraflores was burning. Nobody in my family answered my messages, they had no signal. “I was very distressed at not being able to communicate with my people.”
“Most of us in Miraflores know each other. When I arrived on Saturday I saw how everything was burning along with my godparents, cousins and lifelong friends both in Las Pataguas, La Loma and on Cerro Monte Sinaí. At the same time, my trip was also to go to the aid of a friend and colleague, Benjamín Rivera (Concón National), and his family. “They are from Villa Independencia and they lost their home,” he added.
Likewise, Pedro Sánchez commented that “it was hell, you mightn’t see anything and there were many explosions. Imagine the anguish of knowing that my mother’s house might burn down and she was there. She needed to take her and our pets as well, since they were very scared and disoriented.”
Finally, the Ñublense footballer sent a message of support to those affected by the fires: “I know that the people of Miraflores will stand up and I will be helping in whatever way I can. They will get ahead, because they are people of great effort. They just need a little help from the Government and the Municipality.”
Meanwhile, from the official Ñublense account they expressed their support for the player.
“We send our forces to Pedro Sánchez who suffered an accident in the context of the fires in the city of Viña del Mar. We send a lot of encouragement to his family and to all those who are having a bad time in the fifth region,” the institution stated. on his X account, former Twitter.
