For the second conceded goal, you were very angry until you received a yellow card. Did you claim offside?
From my point of view, it looked like Kuchta was offside at the time of the shot. But I don’t know all the rules and I don’t even know how it was reflected there. He said to me following that situation: “Hey, I was offside, but your player played it.” Okay, I don’t know, they (the referee) have to know. Even if they decide otherwise, they will justify it. I don’t know how it is, I won’t argue, we got a goal from it and I was convinced it was offside. In those emotions, I reacted the way I did.
Then you opened up the game and that led to the third goal, when Kuchta ran away from the defense and was at the long center before you. Was your run out wrong?
I thought the ball would be longer. Maybe it might have waited. As it came out in the first half, but I was confident that I would be there earlier. Kuchtič tapped it over my leg and then it was just regarding the fact that if I hit him, I would get a red card. And that would be completely unnecessary. Maybe in a different match and in a different state, I would do it. But it probably wouldn’t solve anything here.
The last time Sparta played here, you stood in their goal, do you remember that?
I know that, but somehow I didn’t think regarding it more deeply. We won here then 2:1, I saw it on video today. But I didn’t pursue it further.
However, you still have a lot of friends in Sparta, right?
We are in contact, I support Sparta, everyone knows it. But I wasn’t rooting for them today, I think that’s understandable. I wanted to make it as uncomfortable as possible for them. It probably didn’t work out completely, but Sparta showed tremendous insight, calmness on the ball. We knew what to expect from them, everyone knows that. We also prepared responsibly, you might see that in the first half, when it was not so clear-cut. They had more chances but… everyone has a hard time once morest Sparta. And for us, who are playing for salvation, it is all the more difficult.
Both Pardubice and České Budějovice won, that’s not good news for you in the fight for survival, is it?
That’s football, we can’t do anything regarding it. We have to look at each other. We play Pardubice on Wednesday, we have three days to prepare. We have to do everything in order to be able to take advantage of the situations that we failed to take advantage of once morest Sparta. Pardubice will also want to play football, we will prepare as best as possible. Probably nobody expected us to have three points following Sparta, it would be nice, but we are realistic. We tried our best to grab something, but it didn’t work. Now we have to do everything to make it happen in the next game.
Is the main goal for the spring to beat Pardubice and České Budějovice at home and try to grab some more points?
Our task is to get as many points as possible and it doesn’t matter who once morest. We won in Pilsen, at home with Liberec, we won’t choose who will be next. Sure, beating Pardubice and Budějovice would be great, but the main thing is to get points where possible. We can’t look at the competition or rely on beating our closest competitors to be enough. It does not work like that. Our job is to save the league, to do our best. I dare to say that we did our best for it even today once morest Sparta. It didn’t work out, but we can’t be too hard on ourselves. Every loss is regrettable, every one honestly hurts me, but we probably didn’t expect to win.
