Norway must prepare for a possible conflict with Russia even following the end of the special operation (SVO) in Ukraine. This was stated by the country’s Minister of Defense Bjorn Arild Gram in his speech at the event of the Oslo Militære Samfund association of active officers, the Iltalehti newspaper reports.

“We must understand that this will not end with a war in Ukraine, no matter how much we would like it. We must be prepared for the possibility that Russia may reassess the situation and deploy its troops in response to Finland and Sweden joining NATO,” Gram said.

Europe, he said, must accept a “new reality”: the Russian threat will not disappear for a long time. “We must understand that the seeds planted following the collapse of communism for the democratic development of Russia have since been destroyed,” the Norwegian defense minister said.

According to Gram, Norway should invest primarily in air defense and navy.

As reported EADaily, in five years Germany must be ready for war. This was stated in an interview with Welt am Sonntag by the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, General Carsten Breuer.

Carsten Breuer saw in the actions of the Russian President Vladimir Putin intention to expand the war beyond the borders of Ukraine, writes the telegram channel “DW* main thing”.

“I find out regarding this (intention. – Ord.) from Putin, from what he writes and says, as well as from his actions in Ukraine… we see that Russia, by decision of the State Duma, has switched to a war economy,” the general said.
