WhatsApp announced a new feature to combat scams that users are frequently exposed to. The feature makes it easy to deal with spam directly on the user’s lock screen.
WhatsApp has indicated that users can block messages coming from an unknown contact directly from the lock screen.
In a quick video, WhatsApp explained that if a message contains all the hallmarks of a scam attempt, users can expand Quick Actions on their lock screen and tap the Block option, right next to the reply button.
Fraud scams have spread on WhatsApp in the recent period, mainly targeting users of the WhatsApp application due to its wide spread, as fraudsters blackmail users and steal their personal data as well as their bank accounts.
According to Android Police, the new WhatsApp feature is an important step towards controlling the fraudulent messages that WhatsApp users are exposed to, which were a major concern to them.
