Prince Harry has reached a financial agreement that ends prosecutions for illegally gathering information once morest the publisher of the Daily Mirror newspaper, which was already convicted in December of hacking phone messages, his lawyer, David Sherborne, announced on Friday.

This agreement addresses 115 articles on which the judiciary has not yet decided.

According to the lawyer, the publishing house “MGN” agreed to pay a “large sum” to the youngest son of King Charles, including all legal costs.

During a hearing in the Supreme Court in London, David Sherborne spoke regarding an initial allocation of 400,000 pounds ($505,000).

On December 15, the Supreme Court in London ruled in favor of Prince Harry and ordered MGN to pay him 140,600 pounds ($177,000) in compensation.

The judge estimated at the time that 15 of the 33 articles referred to in the prosecution and published between 1996 and 2009 were the result of hacking the voice mailboxes of the Duke of Sussex or his entourage, in addition to other illegal operations.

It also concluded that Prince Harry’s mobile phone messages had been hacked “to a modest extent”.

The judge ruled that the group’s newspaper companies hacked celebrities’ voice mailboxes on a massive scale between 2006 and 2011, including a period that saw a public inquiry into the workings of the British press.

During the trial, Prince Harry testified for eight hours spread over two days before the court in June.

This was the first appearance of a member of the royal family before the court since the then future King Edward VII appeared in 1891 during a trial in a libel case.

Prince Harry launched several legal prosecutions targeting the methods of some British media outlets in covering his actions, especially during his early youth.

Harry, who is 39 years old and resides in the United States following a dispute with the rest of the British royal family, expresses strong dissatisfaction with the popular press, which he holds responsible for the death of his mother, Princess Diana, who died in a car accident in Paris while being chased by famous photo hunters in 1997.

It is worth noting that Harry traveled to London this week to meet his father, King Charles III, who is suffering from cancer.
