FC Twente Women simply won 5-2 once morest Excelsior on Sunday. It is already the fifteenth Eredivisie victory in a row for the leader. AZ lost once morest Feyenoord.
FC Twente still had great difficulty once morest SC Heerenveen on Wednesday, but had a carefree followingnoon at Sportpark Schreurserve on Sunday. American Taylor Ziemer started the goal celebration in the fifth minute with a striking header.
The team of coach Joran Pot had already increased the score to 4-0 before half time thanks to goals from Wieke Kaptein (long shot), Danique van Ginkel (tatter) and Kim Everaerts (long shot).
Sabrine Ellouzi returned the favor on behalf of Excelsior in the 55th minute with a hard shot into the bottom right corner. FC Twente restored the margin five minutes later with a rebound from Eva Oude Elberink.
FC Twente continued to push in the final phase, but the Rotterdam team managed to score despite the odds. Lynn Groenewegen headed home in injury time and set the final score at 5-2.
With the new victory, Pot’s team is still clear in the Eredivisie. The last loss of points by the Tukkers dates from April 29 last year. Then Twente lost 1-0 to Ajax.
AZ loses to Feyenoord by own goal
AZ took on Feyenoord at the same time. The Alkmaar team started well with a goal from former international Desiree van Lunteren, but Feyenoord came alongside fifteen minutes later through Sanne Koopman.
An own goal by Femke Liefting gave Feyenoord a 1-2 victory. Feyenoord keeps AZ in sight and is now ninth with one point less. AZ and Feyenoord also competed once morest each other in the Eredivisie for men on Sunday. The Rotterdam club also won there: 0-1.
In the Azerion Eredivisie, SC Heerenveen and FC Utrecht kept each other in balance (0-0). Number four Fortuna Sittard lost no less than 0-4 at home once morest ADO Den Haag.
