February 5,Yahoo Japan reported on the newly crowned Miss Japan, Carolina Shiino admitted to having an affair with a doctor 19 years older than her, who was married and had children. After this incident, Carolina Shiino decided to return the Miss crown.
The Miss Japan Association published a notice accepting Carolina Shiino’s decision and confirmed that the beauty queen position will not be replaced.
On the same day, Carolina Shiino’s management company also spoke up, revealing that initially, when chatting with Carolina, she denied having any evidence of an adulterous relationship. However, following reconfirming, Carolina admitted to dating Mr. Maeda – a doctor with a wife and children, right following he confided regarding his divorce.

Carolina Shiino (born 1997) has Ukrainian parents, began her modeling career at the age of 15 and won the Best Body Japan contest in 2020. After recently being crowned Miss Nippon, information regarding The adulterous relationship caused a stir in Japanese public opinion. Some viewers believe that Carolina Shiino does not reflect traditional Japanese beauty. Carolina Shiino obtained Japanese citizenship in 2023 before participating in the beauty contest.
