Due to its geographical position close to several other coastal areas and holiday villages, Tetouan has always been able to maintain its vocation as a commercial and shopping city par excellence. In this sense, the White Colombe will have a merchant’s house dedicated to professionals and craftsmen in the region. Benefiting from the interest of the main institutional and professional partners concerned, this project will be the subject of a partnership agreement, the text of which has just been debated and adopted during the ordinary session of the municipal council of Tetouan held recently under of the month of February.
It aims to mobilize relevant stakeholders, in particular the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region (CCIS-TTA), the commune and the provincial council of Tetouan as well as their main partners in order to to accelerate the completion of the project. As the main initiator of this project, the CCIS-TTA has already announced on its electronic portal its allocation of land of 2,349 m² for the establishment of the future merchant’s house, more precisely in a subdivision located on the road from Sebta km 6.

Mr. El Bakkouri made it clear that this new structure contributes to the support and protection of traders and ensures their training and supervision in order to promote the promotion and modernization of their sector. The participants in this session recalled the importance of mobilizing all signatory parties and their partners concerned to ensure support and monitoring of this project with a view to helping small traders take charge of themselves and recover. on its feet in a very difficult context caused by the closure of the Bab Sebta crossing points, then by the two years of the Covid-19 health crisis.
Remember that to regain its influence as a commercial city par excellence, Tetouan hosts each year and since 2016 (with the exception of the two years of Covid-19) commercial days generally taking place over a period of approximately one month, and this at the initiative of the CCIS-TTA. Moreover, this merchant’s house project was announced during one of the previous editions of this annual meeting, maintaining throughout its nine years of existence the same objective of offering merchants in the region a a place to meet and exchange their experiences, but also to promote their products and services to their target customers.
