High-level Meeting in Abu Dhabi: UAE’s Efforts for Sustainable Ceasefire in Gaza

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Foreign Minister Lord Tariq Ahmed, Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and the United Nations at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and the British Prime Minister’s Special Representative for the Prevention of Sexual Violence in Conflict.
During the meeting, which was held in Abu Dhabi, they discussed developments in the situation in the Middle East region and their security and humanitarian repercussions, in addition to the efforts made to reach a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza.
The meeting touched on ways to enhance the global response to the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, and the importance of delivering humanitarian relief and medical aid to civilians in a safe and sustainable manner.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the UAE’s support for all regional and international efforts to reach a sustainable ceasefire, and the importance of ending extremism, tension and violence in the region in a way that contributes to providing protection for all civilians and providing the necessary humanitarian support to the brotherly Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering.
His Highness and Lord Tariq Ahmed discussed a number of files of common interest related to the partnership for the future that brings together the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs and Permanent Representative of the State to the United Nations, and Mansour Abdullah Belhoul Al Falasi, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
