With the young Hegert (21 years old) and Seboussi (26 years old), Christian Andriantseheno is only one step away from an unprecedented coronation in the PPF Grand Final.
The passion of youth and the serenity of experience in the same alloy… This is perhaps the secret of this Andriantseheno team! Not necessarily among the most anticipated formations of this Passion Pétanque Française Grand Finale, the Madagascan scorer’s triplet reached the final. The 1999 world champion with Madagascar can count on the audacity of his two young traveling companions, Yaniss Seboussi (26 years old) and Théo Hergert (21 years old). For their first participation, the two revelations of this 2024 edition are only one step away from a PPF coronation. A feat never before achieved for beginners… In the semi-final, they beat the Lyon triplet of Winter Claudy (13-5).
Battle on a minefield
Head shooter for the Lyon Canuts, Tyson Molinas started the match well, with free shots on a pitch that made it difficult for them. The Lyon Canuts open the scoring (0-2). With Christian Andriantseheno at the point who launches his two young comrades perfectly, the response is immediate (1-2).
The field then acts up, in trampoline mode. With two straight shots, Tyson Molinas sees his balls deflected once the ground hits… With such a small score, Alex Mallet is already moving forward to shoot on goal. Without success, and Andriantseheno took the opportunity to slip four points (5-2).
Andriantseheno impeccable
To stick to the goal and force the Lyonnais to attack, the Malagasy continues his demonstration. Not impressed by his first final, Théo Hegert concluded the lead with a successful shot and widened the gap (6-2). On the next lead, the Canuts are still in difficulty. Alexandre Mallet attacks the goal once more, and this time manages to eject it!
Perhaps the boost needed for the people of Rhone. This time, Winter Claudy and her team play ball for ball in this lead. Mallet, once more slams a puck at him with the last attempt of the lead, to make a first close (6-4).
Lyon Canuts does not give in, Hegert and Seboussi put on a show
Opposite, Yanniss Seboussi responds to the shot, to the applause of the Corsican public. The Lyonnais are banking on the point to crack the opposing strike. Not successful on this one, Hegert does not hit the target ball hard enough, and Claudy gets even closer (6-5). On the next end, Hegert hits the mark with his team’s last balls: three points for Andriantseheno, who already puts the win within his reach (9-5).
Seboussi is still as sharp, and everything rests on the shoulders of Mallet, two balls to three, to prevent Andriantseheno from getting dangerously close to 13 units… First missed by Mallet, who makes up for it with a beautiful diamond in stride. The answer is scathing: Seboussi’s move back! His companion Hegert also cleans the area, and that’s two more (11-5).
Back once morest the wall, the Lyonnais got off to a bad start. Molinas had to attack the goal, but only managed to shift it… Yet with a slight disadvantage of five balls to four, the Canuts collected three shot attempts, and the victory was for Andriantseheno on a final dry strike from Seboussi.
