A hard blow for Netflix, insofar as some of them, highly anticipated, had previously achieved high audience scores. This is the case, for example, of Wednesday, Tim Burton’s little gem led by Jenna Ortega. Although considered a priority by the platform, the second season will not be started before April, and in Ireland this time. The first clues revealed by the main actress to the E! yet gave hope for a release at the end of the year, as planned: “I received a few scripts for the second season and we are leaning more towards horror. It’s really very exciting because, throughout the series, even though Wednesday experiences things, she never really changes and that’s what’s great regarding her. There are very, very good lines and then everything is bigger. It’s more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel a little more like a movie and that’s good.” You had to be patient to discover all this.
But also the continuation of the second series, also announced as a priority by Netflix. Namely Stranger Things. Production on the fifth and final season has only just begun, and filming is not expected until May. Then you just need to add the special effects. It is therefore grated for 2024.
As with many other sagas marked with a capital N. The producers of One Piece had announced that they had a good number of scripts already ready, but no filming date has yet been announced. Last September, Becky Clements, president of Tomorrow Studios, announced that the second season would be released “somewhere between a year and 18 months.” Obviously, the second option seems more realistic, since Netflix has not added it to its list of releases for this year.
No more than Virgin River (shooting will not begin until spring), Sweet Magnolias (the set for season 4 should remain in turmoil until the end of summer), Ginny&Georgia (the third season was initially planned for start… 2024 on Netflix), The Lincoln Lawyer (the ten episodes of the third season were also announced for January 2024, before the strikes), The Watcher, XO, Kitty or The Recruit.
Fans will therefore have to be patient or rush to other series while waiting for next year.
