Qualcomm announced a new cooperation agreement with Samsung during its first-quarter fiscal year conference call to jointly promote the development of the “Snapdragon for Galaxy” plan.

According to research reports, Samsung has applied the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor to the Galaxy S24 Ultra mobile phone in the Galaxy S24 series of mobile phones launched this year. However, in markets such as Europe, the Galaxy S24 / S24+ is equipped with Samsung’s own Exynos 2400 processor.

Although the Exynos 2400 processor has shown better performance than Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in a series of light tracing tests, overall it is still in its early stages of catching up with the Snapdragon series.

Samsung has made it clear that its upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra phones will continue to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processors globally. This new processor will use Qualcomm’s own CPU architecture NUVIA/ORYON and will be manufactured using advanced 3nm process technology to achieve excellent performance in improving efficiency and performance.

Qualcomm’s statement made it clear: “We are extremely excited to extend our long-term cooperation agreement with Samsung to launch the Snapdragon platform for flagship Galaxy smartphones starting in 2024. This not only proves the value of the Snapdragon 8 series, but also further emphasizes the This reflects the fact that we are a global technology leader. At the same time, this also lays a solid foundation for us to formulate long-term strategies.”
