There is no leading candidate. There is a dual leadership.
St. Pölten (OTS) – “Before Christmas, Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, in consultation with Klaudia Tanner and Gerhard Karner as well as the sub-organizations of the People’s Party of Lower Austria, decided that there would be no top candidate for the National Council election. Both will be ministers head the state list of the Lower Austria People’s Party as a dual leader. Current media reports regarding who is now formally running for first place and who is formally running for second place on the list are therefore completely irrelevant for the direction of the election campaign and for the campaign management, because we are consciously relying on our two Lower Austria ministers “That’s for good reason: Klaudia Tanner and Gerhard Karner are doing an excellent job as security ministers for our republic. With this dual leadership, we as the People’s Party of Lower Austria are going into the National Council election with the best personnel and content on offer,” said VPNÖ state manager BR Matthias Zauner.
The dual leadership will be decided in the next state party executive committee. The date for this is currently being coordinated.
