Jonathan Skalicky Promoted to Sergeant by North Dakota Highway Patrol

Col. Brandon Solberg, superintendent, of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, announces the promotion of Trooper Jonathan Skalicky to sergeant.

Skalicky attended the Highway Patrol Academy and graduated on June 24, 2010. Following graduation, Skalicky was stationed in Cooperstown as a traffic enforcement trooper where he served until transferring to Valley City on Augu. 31, 2011, and served as a motor carrier operations trooper. On Dec. 1, 2013, he transferred back to traffic enforcement but remained in Valley City where he has since served.

Skalicky was named the 2022 NDHP Trooper of the Year and was also awarded the NDHP Legion of Honor medal.

Skalicky earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Minot (North Dakota) State University in 1996.

Skalicky began his duties as a regional sergeant on Feb. 1 and will be stationed in Valley City.
