This has not been officially announced, but numerous leaks and spy photos indicate that Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max has been chosen as the donor. If cooperation with Chery is confirmed, Xcite will become the seventh sub-brand of the Chinese company in the Russian market following Exeed, Omoda, Jetour, Jaecoo, Kaiyi and Exlantix. Such diversity creates difficulties due to internal competition, so Chery seeks to separate them into niches: say, Jetour are Chery models with a brighter design and a little cheaper. It is still unclear how the X-Cross 7 will be positioned.
