A court placed actor Alain Delon under guardianship

French star Alain Delon was placed “under judicial protection” by the guardian judge of a court in the southern Paris region, several media outlets said on Monday, confirming the information of BFM TV. According to this, the court appointed a legal representative in the “medical care” of the 88-year-old actor and in the selection of the provider.

On January 10, lawyers for Alain Delon and his eldest son, Anthony, requested that the film legend be placed under protection for “health reasons”.

According to the same lawyers, on January 13, the doctor appointed by the Chief Prosecutor underwent a medical examination. The guardianship judge’s Jan. 25 order found that “Alain Delon’s three children are at odds, particularly regarding his medical care” and the caregivers “entrusted with his care.”

A BFM TV channel reported on the court decision on January 29. According to their information, the artist can carry out many activities, except for the most important ones, such as selling real estate, the management of which is entrusted to a third party. The court-appointed agent is to assist Alain Delon, including medical supervision and selection of doctors.

In France, the “sauvegarde de justice” is a short-term protection measure (one year and renewable only once) that allows adults to be represented in carrying out certain acts of daily life.

Delon’s health became a subject of debate among his family members and close circles. Thus, the prosecutor’s office began a preliminary investigation in 2023 following the actor’s youngest son, Alain-Fabien, complained regarding Anushka, who allegedly abused his father’s ignorance and weakness. Hiromi Rollin also wrote a letter to the prosecutor’s office accusing her children of “attempting to intentionally kill” the actor.

During his long career, the actor managed to perform more than a hundred works in cinema and theater. The films “In the Bright Sun”, “Rocco and his brothers” and “The Leopard” brought him fame.
