Balassagyarmati and Vác successes at the V. Nógrád Cup supply tournament

As we previously reported, the Nógrád Vármegyei Handball Association organized the Nógrád Cup for the fifth time on January 27, 2024 in the Balassa SE sports hall in Balassagyarmat.

Four girls and four men were represented at the competition. The goal of the event was to give the participating teams an opportunity to prepare for the championship, the success of which was confirmed one by one by the team leaders who appeared and at the end of the tournament they indicated that they would be happy to return next year. The halves were played with a playing time of 25 minutes, and the competition took place in a cup system, with two semi-finals, following which the losing teams competed for 3rd place, and the winners competed for first place. In the end, there was a home success for the ladies, as Balassa SE Balassagyarmat won in two extremely close matches, in the final with penalties.

For the boys, Váci FKA won the trophy with a confident game. Ferenc Bártfai, the President of the Nógrád County Handball Association, handed over the diplomas and cups to the teams and special award winners at the results announcement. The president expressed his gratitude to the Hungarian Handball Association’s Supply Office and its staff for the great help they provided in the preparatory work.

Girls, semi-finals: Balassa SE Balassagyarmat – Salgótarjáni Strandepítók KC 28–26 (12–15), TFSE Budapest – Veresegyház VSK 29–15 (19–6), bronze match: Salgótarján Beach Builders KC – Veresegyház VSK 40–31 (21–14), finals: Balassa SE Balassagyarmat – TFSE Budapest 23–23 (13–14), with penalties: 4–2.
Special prize winners: Best goalkeeper of the tournament: Nemes Fanni (TFSE), The best outfield player of the tournament: Ivett Kuczi (TFSE), Top scorer of the tournament: Imre Emma (Balassa SE).

Boys, semi-finals: Mogyoródi KSK – Salgótarján Beach Builders KC 33–18 (18–7), Szalézi DSE Kazincbarcika – Váci FKA 23–30 (11–16), bronze match: Salgótarján Beach Builders KC – Szalézi DSE Kazincbarcika 20–44 (8–20), finals: KSK Mogyoródi – FKA Váci 25–28 (10–15).

Special prize winners: Best goalkeeper of the tournament: Márton Csányi (FKA Váci), The best outfield player of the tournament: Péter Zsuga (Mogyoródi KSK), Top scorer of the tournament: Marcell Kocsis (FKA Váci).
