The city government stated that Qiu Chenyuan has served as the Overseas Chinese Affairs Promotion Committee of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council, Secretary-General of the World Federation of Taiwanese Businessmen, Chairman of the Youth Business Council of the World Federation of Taiwanese Businessmen, CEO of the World Federation of Taiwanese Businessmen, and General Secretary of the Vietnam Taiwanese Business Federation. He held important overseas positions such as the president and founding convener of the Huiqing Chamber of Commerce, providing overseas assistance and rights relief work to Taiwanese businessmen and Taiwanese overseas Chinese. During his tenure as a legislator, he served as the general convenor of the People’s Party for three years, and successively held positions in the economy, transportation , Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee, and was elected and voted to serve as an important convener of the Legislative Yuan Transportation Committee.
