Spy shots of a new electric minivan under the Smart brand have appeared on the Internet

There are currently two electric vehicles in the Smart lineup: the compact crossover Smart #1 and the larger Smart #3. Now the first pictures of the new Smart HY11 and details regarding it have appeared.

The future new product was spotted in China during road tests. It has not even been officially announced whether the manufacturer classifies this model as a crossover or minivan. The latter is more likely due to the low ground clearance and bulky silhouette.

Smart HY11 is built on the SEA architecture from the Geely Group. It will be equipped with an 800-volt electrical system and Smart Pilot Assist 3.0.

Let us recall that in 2019 the Smart brand took a new course: Mercedes-Benz and Geely Group created a joint venture called Smart Automobile. This company focused on the brand’s transition from small cars with internal combustion engines to electric vehicles. In this joint venture, Geely is responsible for technical design and production (at the Xi’an plant), and Mercedes-Benz is responsible for design.

Smart HY11 will hit the Chinese market this year. By 2027, the company wants to have 6-7 electric vehicles in its production line.
