We visited the Madonna restaurant in Warsaw! What does it look like inside?

Madonna Restaurant is certainly a unique place. Located on pl. The venue has attracted the attention of thousands of Warsaw residents in recent weeks. Mainly due to the media hype caused by the original interior design. We decided to check at the source what it is actually like in the famous Madonna.

We were at the Madonna restaurant in Warsaw. What does it look like inside?

The place is located at the intersection of pl. Constitution from ul. Jan and Jędrzej Śniadecki. After entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a statue of the Virgin Mary in an unusual arrangement. The disadvantage was a narrow corridor, which was difficult to squeeze through when there was heavy traffic. The interior of Madonna is mainly shades of pink, red and burgundy. The premises are divided into ground floor and first floor.

In the first room there were tightly placed tables and pouffes. The ground floor was also dominated by mirrors, which, in addition to being attached to the walls, were also found on the entire ceiling. The interior was enhanced with countless pictures depicting saints with some modifications. Some of them, instead of the faces of Jesus Christ or Mary, presented images of world pop culture stars.

The decor on the first floor was much more subdued. Just like on the ground floor, characteristic pictures appeared. Among them, we might spot, among others, Rihanna, Lane Del Rey or Keanu Reeves instead of the face of Jesus Christ. At the end of the room there was a small toilet.

Madonna in Warsaw. What does the menu look like? How much do the dishes cost?

The owners of the premises took care to introduce a modern ordering system. Each table is equipped with a figurine of the Virgin Mary with a QR code. After scanning, the code took us to a special website. It was through it that we were able to place an order.

Prices for individual dishes are not the cheapest, but also the most expensive. The most popular item on the menu is the so-called “lunch set”, which is served from Tuesday to Friday. For PLN 35, we can choose one of the soups (Ribolita or Broth with Pasta), and a main course such as: pork chop with baked Tuscan potatoes, Bucatini Amatriciana pasta, pappardelle pasta with porcini mushrooms and chicken, rigatoni with salsciccia and truffle, steak Medium Rare 200g in boletus sauce with fries (+ PLN 20) or several types of gnocchi.

The rest of the accessories in the set are as follows:

  • creme brulee: PLN 10,
  • tiramisu: PLN 10,
  • lemonade: PLN 9,
  • mineral water, carafe: PLN 6,
  • a glass of fine wine: PLN 9,
  • bottle of white wine: PLN 39.

The restaurant also offers tiramisu and creme brulee separately. Then the amount will be PLN 29 for each dessert. The menu also includes a wide range of alcohol and drinks.

The restaurant’s decor stirred emotions. What is it regarding?

Not all Warsaw residents liked the decor of the Warsaw Madonna. Some of them even warned that the object desecrated the image of the Virgin Mary and offended religious feelings. We are talking regarding images of the Virgin Mary or Jesus Christ, whose faces were replaced with images of Rihanna, Lana Del Rey or Keanu Reeves.

The Madonna restaurant also caught the attention of Radio Maryja. An article criticizing the premises on pl appeared on the radio station’s website. Constitution. And at the end of November, a prayer protest by the ultra-Catholic Warriors of Mary and Soldiers of Christ took place in front of the premises.

“We are not interested in getting involved in this matter because we do not want to gain excessive publicity beyond that resulting from the excellence of our cuisine,” the restaurant told us.
