PDI Investigation: Skull Found in Ovalle Estimated to be Two Years Old – Latest Updates and Findings

The Investigative Police (PDI) indicated that, according to their estimates, the skull found this Saturday in Ovalle has a date of death two years.

Let us remember that the macabre discovery occurred in the middle of Route 43, in the town of Las Ánimas. The skeleton was spotted by a citizen who was traveling through the area, who immediately reported the incident to the police.

“On route D-43, specifically at kilometer 33 and approximately 8 kilometers towards the slopes of the hill and the coast, service personnel verified the information, finding a human skull at the site,” indicated the Carabineros major. Erwin Orellana.

PDI estimates death date at two years

Hours later, the PDI provided its estimate on the date of death and also indicated that no injuries attributable to third parties were observed in the skeleton.

“The scientific-technical work and inspection of the site of the event were carried out, where it was observed that It is a skull of an adult person, which was in a state of skeletonizationwhose estimated date is two years, which will be established by the SML of Ovalle, where the corresponding expertise will be carried out,” said the subprefect José Cácereshead of the PDI Homicide Brigade in Coquimbo.

Until now, the sex or identity of the person has not been identified. Nor has any hypothesis yet been established regarding the circumstances of his death, while specialized teams continue working on the respective expert reports.
