MWM: The US will not transfer A-10 attack aircraft to Kyiv for fear of their destruction

Columnists for the American edition of the magazine Military Watch Magazine believe that Washington will not transfer its A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft to Kyiv. According to the authors, the United States fears that these aircraft will be immediately destroyed in battles with the Russian army, as happened with the German Leopard2 and British Challenger2 tanks.

“The United States is seeking to avoid damaging the reputation of its weapons by carefully controlling their deployment,” observers said.

The publication noted that the A-10 had not previously shown particularly outstanding results on the battlefield. Thus, during the Iraqi campaign, this aircraft was shot down several times by short-range air defenses. Therefore, the United States does not want a similar scenario to repeat itself in Ukraine. It is possible that for the same reason Washington has been refusing to transfer its F-16 fighters to Kyiv for so long.
