Vienna (OTS) – “FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl must finally distance himself from the Identitarians and their boss Martin Sellner. He and his confidants represent a security risk for Austria. For Kickl’s General Secretary Christian Hafenecker, ‘remigration is the order of the day’ – a term used primarily by the right-wing extremist identitarians. And Kickl himself never distanced himself from the Identitarian leader Sellner, who, according to unconfirmed media reports, was undercover in Germany. Quite the opposite: In the past, Herbert Kickl appeared as a defender of the Identitarians. He trivialized this right-wing extremist group in parliament as an ‘NGO from the right’. In addition, he repeatedly takes up their content – such as the recent idea of deporting Austrian citizens,” commented the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, on the latest media reports regarding Martin Sellner, and emphasized: “Kickl is a security risk at all levels. He does not distance himself from right-wing extremists, has destroyed the Office for the Protection of the Constitution and wants to do everything in his power to prevent the protective shield that would protect Austria from drones and missiles. Those who are increasingly pushing themselves towards the right-wing extremist fringe have no qualms regarding taking up the ideas of such groups. Herbert Kickl shouldn’t be surprised that he and his FPÖ are completely isolated internationally.”
