Over the past half century, bilateral relations between Vietnam and Switzerland have developed extensively in all fields of politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, culture, education and training. In particular, cooperation in trade and investment are two important pillars in the relationship between the two countries and there is still much room for further development.
Switzerland is currently Vietnam’s most important economic partner in Europe. From 1992 to present, through the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Swiss Federal Bureau of Economic Affairs (SECO), Switzerland has supported ODA capital for Vietnam with regarding 687 million USD.
