Pending divorce from his ex-wife Marie-Bénédicte Hurel, former tennis player Amélie Mauresmo has initiated criminal proceedings. She says she was the victim of harassment.
Arriving discreetly at the Bayonne judicial court, Amélie Moresmo testified this Tuesday before the criminal chamber once morest her ex-wife, Marie-Bénédicte Hurel. In a closed-door trial requested due to the public nature of the former player, Mauresmo looked back on her years of suffering.
Harassment and blackmail
On the stand, Amélie Mauresmo described the moral harassment that her ex-wife subjected her to. Blackmail, insults received mainly by SMS, daily humiliations… A situation which led the former champion’s doctor to prescribe 10 days of total incapacity for work.
Last September, Amélie Mauresmo’s ex-wife was taken into police custody.
The judgment reserved
According to information from France Blue, the public prosecutor would have requested ten suspended prison sentences once morest the ex-wife of Amélie Mauresmo. The defense pleads for release and assures that it has never “heard such words“. The judgment must be pronounced by February 13.
