Trello user: data appeared in hacker forum

According to a post on the Mastodon platform, personal data from 15 million users has been leaked. Some data was offered for sale on a hacker forum. Users can check whether they are affected at haveibeenpwned.com.

The HaveIBeenPwned website states that the data was obtained using email addresses that were already known from previous data leaks. The attacker used this to retrieve further user data such as names and user IDs from a publicly accessible data source.

“Investigations are ongoing”

A Trello spokesperson said the company is aware of the data leak claims and is investigating them. “Our investigation is ongoing, but we have found no evidence that this data was collected through unauthorized access,” the spokesperson said.

Users are encouraged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity. Trello has promised to continuously monitor its platform for suspicious activity to ensure the security and privacy of the service.
