Maite Peñoñori announced that in March she will go to live in the United States with her husband, television producer Martin Pietruszka. In dialogue with TN Show, the journalist commented that it was not easy to commit to this change, but she was excited regarding what is coming. According to her, they will move to Miami and there they hope to continue their careers in the media.
“We chose this destination because when we started investigating we realized that there was a large Latin community, many projects, chains, channels and opportunities for the community. Although we both speak English, it is more pleasant. Also, we both like the heat and living near the beach seemed like a great plan to us,” she said regarding the reasons why they are going to Miami.

As he revealed, living in another country was a pending account: “We always had the concern of trying an experience abroad, we liked the multicultural nature of some cities. At one point we thought regarding Spain, because I have a Spanish passport and Martín has a Polish one, so we might travel to Europe, but we noticed that it was more difficult there and that there were not as many opportunities as in Miami.”

The process was not quick, and they had to go through several stages. They applied for an O-1 talent visa, intended for people who excel in the field of arts or who have achieved outstanding recognition in the film or television industry. “For that visa you have to meet a lot of requirements before submitting a file and it took us a long time to submit everything. From the moment we started thinking regarding this until we looked for the papers, got them and put in a folder, it took regarding a year and a half or two,” he explained.
Beyond the fact that the process was extended in time, that allowed them to think better regarding the adventure: “That made us process it. Obviously, once they left it was difficult for us to make the decision because at work we were both in a very different situation than when we started. “Both of us with a lot of growth, Martín in charge of Telenoche and I had just returned to LAM.”

Of course, the distance from friends and family was one of the topics of the conversation with Maite: “We are going to miss them, but they are well and healthy. I hope you can come visit us a lot. My dad is retiring next year, so I told him ‘you have to come visit me’ and my mom is already retired. My in-laws too. So I hope that the situation in the country recovers a little and that they can come. We are going to return in principle in September because my best friend is getting married and I am the witness.”

In this new stage, Maite wants to continue growing in the media: “We have a lot of expectations. Work a lot, basically. We are going to have different experiences to learn.” As a personal project, she plans to show the influencer side of her. “I also want to take the opportunity to further enhance my networks and venture into YouTube, which I never uploaded anything.”

In addition, he already has several journalistic productions in mind to carry out in the United States: “I intend to make some notes there, interviews and content. Now we are open to living that new work experience and getting to know each other. I feel that it will be enriching to work with people from different places, to learn regarding current events and entertainment there. “I really like the Hollywood world and the gossip there, so that’s a bit of the idea of the plans.”
