Submitting for approval the North – South High Speed Railway project

As the managing agency of many projects, the Ministry of Transport focuses on speeding up the construction progress of important national transport infrastructure projects such as sections of the Eastern North-South Expressway, the Project to Part 2 of Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot, Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressways; Soon complete upgrading of maritime channels into Cai Mep – Thi Vai Port and Nam Nghi Son Port.
In 2024, the Ministry of Transport strives to complete, put into operation and use at least 130km of expressways; strive to submit to competent authorities for approval the investment policy of the North – South High Speed Railway Project and continue to accelerate the progress of investment preparation for other important railway routes such as Hanoi – Lao Cai – Hai Phong , Ho Chi Minh City – Can Tho, Bien Hoa – Vung Tau, Long Thanh – Thu Thiem.
The Ministry of Transport will coordinate closely with governing agencies, competent agencies and localities to improve the quality of investment preparation and soon start construction of key, inter-regional projects.
Specifically, Hoa Binh – Moc Chau, Ninh Binh – Hai Phong, Gia Nghia – Chon Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City – Chon Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai, Dau Giay – Lien Khuong expressways; Accelerate the implementation of projects on Belt 4 of Hanoi Capital, Ring 3 of Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot, Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang, Bien Hoa – Vung Tau, Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang, Long Thanh International Airport, Terminal T3 – Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Along with that, the Ministry of Transport will soon put into operation the elevated section of Nhon – Hanoi Railway Station and Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien urban railway.
Capital disbursement is an important task
Determining investment capital disbursement as an important task for 2024, the Ministry of Transport requires investors to develop detailed disbursement plans for each project right from the beginning of the year; Prioritize capital allocation for key, urgent projects and completed projects; promptly regulate and adjust from projects with slow disbursement and projects with no need for disbursement to projects with quick disbursement and demand.

In parallel with the implementation of the social security train operation plan, the Ministry of Transport continues to improve the quality of railway transport services; Strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of train schedules and prices for railway transportation management services.
At the same time, the Ministry of Transport will develop and promulgate a strict control mechanism, ending the situation of issuing driving licenses to drug addicts, people with insufficient capacity, behavior, and health; Research and deploy post-training driver management solutions.
At the same time, strengthen the application of information technology, closely coordinate with agencies and functional units of the Police, Health and relevant ministries and branches in management, supervision and training. , testing, issuance, renewal of driving licenses.
