(Mandaree, ND) — Bighorn sheep in North Dakota seem to be multiplying like rabbits.

There are nearly three times as many of them on the Fort Berthold Reservation in northwestern North Dakota compared to when they were reintroduced there four years ago.

The Game and Fish Department estimates there are now 85 sheep on the reservation following 30 of them were released there in 2020.

The sheep were brought from the Rocky Boy’s Reservation in Montana and released in the Mandaree and Twin Buttes areas.
