The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, stated this Monday that the journalist Sebastiana Barráez is instigating his assassination.
“I see it as an instigation to kill me. I would say that Sebastiana Barráez is instigating me to be murdered, because she is quoting a poem and she knows that I know that poet,” said Saab.
In an interview for the Kicosis program, broadcast by Globovisión, Saab stated that following the arrest warrant once morest Barráez became known, she broadcast a video on social networks in which she recites a poem by a poet shot in El Salvador.
“She quotes a poem by Roque Dalton and sends me a threat: “I think that you are on the scene, it is so that it does not end as Roque Dalton ended and she puts the date, May 10, 1975. What happened to Roque Dalton? He was murdered , Joaquín Villalobos was shot by a subject captured by the CIA who later ended the civil war in El Salvador,” said the senior official.
In the opinion of the Attorney General, these statements by the communicator are “very serious.”
“What Sebastiana Barráez has done is very serious because you are instigating my murder, your recitation went wrong apart from the fact that you don’t know how to recite poetry,” he said.
