AMD presented the family of Ryzen 8000G processors for desktops during CES 2024, and although the launch is only scheduled for January 31st, this Tuesday (23rd), new benchmark tests were revealed that reveal the possible performance of two models in the line: Ryzen 7 8700G and Ryzen 5 8600G.

The Ryzen 7 8700G is the most powerful in AMD’s new line of processors with integrated graphics. With a suggested price of US$329 (regarding R$1,639), this model promises a performance jump of 64% in multi-core and 37% in single-core compared to its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 5700G, according to Geekbench 6 benchmark data.

Also delivering a performance leap compared to its predecessors, the Ryzen 5 8600G proved to be 50% faster in multi-core and 29% faster in single-core compared to the Ryzen 5 5600G.

The performance increase is mainly due to the generational leap between the Zen 3 and Zen 4 architectures. In addition to a new lithography, the latest technology brought an increase in instructions per clock (IPC) and the new AM5 socket, which guarantees better delivery of power to the processor and support for DDR5 and PCI Express 5.0.

Benchmark tests also suggest that the new processors’ integrated GPU will be capable of achieving the performance of an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or GTX 1650 graphics card in games at Full HD resolution (1080p). Check prices:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 8700G: US$ 329 (~R$ 1.639)
  • AMD Ryzen 5 8600G: US$ 229 (~R$ 1.140)
  • AMD Ryzen 5 8500G: US$ 179 (~R$ 890)
  • AMD Ryzen 3 8300G: only on pre-assembled computers
