» Details: Newspapers have published information reporting a “stormy LACOS” meeting in which I took part, and during which I “refused to withdraw (my) candidacy” in the presidential election of February 25, 2024 .
I would like to make the following clarifications:
- I did not take part in the meeting mentioned;
- The Minutes of this meeting, which I received well following, nowhere mention a decision concerning applications within LACOS;
- I have not taken part in any other meeting at which the question of my candidacy or that of another was discussed;
- Like all the candidates selected in the list published by the Constitutional Council on January 20, I have submitted to the DGE, in accordance with the Law, the model of my ballot and the list of plenipotentiaries in the departments and districts;
- I am in good understanding with my ally Ousmane Sonko on all the actions taken.
Finally, I would like to recall that from 2002 (date of my first activities in the citizen and civic space) to now, my action has always had the sole and unique objective of the tireless pursuit of the general interest. All my future decisions will be made in light of this ideal. I only have the flag of Senegal as my compass.
My only ambition is the defeat of the candidate Amadou Ba, the fall of the Benno Bokk Yaakaar regime and the triumph of the Patriotic, Sovereignist, Pan-African and Refounder pole to which I belong.
