According to media reports, police have arrested a suspect following the violent deaths of three older siblings in their home near Madrid. The man turned himself in and admitted involvement in the crime, the state TV broadcaster RTVE, the newspaper “El País” and other Spanish media reported unanimously on Monday, citing the police.

The dead found last Thursday in the town of Morata de Tajuña were two sisters and their brother, between 71 and 79 years old. The arrested man stated that the motive for the crime was that the victims owed him 50,000 euros. “El País” reported that he had lived with the siblings since 2022 and had previously acted violently once morest one of the two women, which is why he was in prison for some time.

According to media reports, the two sisters had repeatedly borrowed large amounts of money from friends and neighbors over the years in order to send it to alleged US soldiers in Afghanistan, with whom they had fallen in love over the Internet. The two sisters ignored warnings that it might be a case of love fraud. The police did not initially confirm this information.
