Bagas expert Reza Murti pointed out coach Troussier’s mistakes
The Golden Star Warriors caused great disappointment when they lost to Tim Garuda despite being rated higher. Recently, author Bagas Reza Murti of BolaSports (Indonesia) shared regarding the reason for the failure of the Vietnamese team:
“Coach Shin Tae-yong has faced Vietnam many times. I think he has studied the playing style and picked up the opponent’s cards. In the two rounds, coach Shin used two different strategies.
The first 45 minutes were a very fierce attack, then switched to more defense in the second half. Preserving the advantage following taking the lead is understandable.
I see that Vietnamese public opinion talks a lot regarding coach Troussier being very consistent with his playing style. Either way he demands possession of the ball. I think this is beneficial for the Indonesian national teamespecially coach Shin Tae-yong as he has a more flexible approach.”
This expert also added regarding the reasons why the Vietnamese team did not play well: “Many factors caused the Vietnamese team to not perform well, the absence of key players due to injury is also a big disadvantage.
I can’t say the weakness is always believing in the philosophy, you know, every coach has their own philosophy and they’re trying to apply it to their team. The problem is probably time.”
