Only 18 out of 120 members of the Knesset voted in favor of the proposal presented by the Labor Party.

Local reports stated that members of the parties forming the ruling coalition boycotted the session and did not come to the voting hall.

The Knesset met to discuss a motion of no confidence in the Netanyahu government, following its failure to return the hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

The Labor Party said: “Hamas has detained our daughters and sons for 108 days. Their lives are in danger at any moment. Under this government, they have been abandoned and kidnapped, and this is the government that is not making the necessary decisions to save them and return them all to their homeland now.”

He added: “We expect all opposition factions to support the motion to withdraw confidence and demand that the government answer questions that do not allow any citizen of the State of Israel to sleep in peace.”
