WhatsApp beta brought another feature to cell phones equipped with the Android operating system. Version 2.24.2.20 arrived with a new possibility of sharing files with people close to you. The information is from the website WABetaInfo.
Both you and your contact need to access the “People Nearby” section of the app and continue until the transfer begins. In addition, it will be necessary to shake the device to create a sharing request – which will rely on the messenger’s end-to-end encryption, to maintain the security of the procedure.
The intention is for the tool to serve as a new way to transfer files in a practical and quick way, with people who are nearby. Especially to facilitate sending files of up to 2 GB between Android cell phones and PCs running Windows or Chrome OS.
If the functionality works on both Android and iOS, this exchange of systems might bring an advantage to Meta’s messaging app, compared to other similar solutions – which do not allow transfer between different platforms.
So far, there is still no forecast of availability for the general public. It is worth remembering that, in the previous test version (2.24.2.17), WhatsApp beta started experimenting with a function that allows you to change channel owners. The application can be downloaded for Android, iOS and Windows, using the links located in the card below the text.
