While studying medicine, Lukas Leitner realized that he was actually most interested in the “craftsmanship” of the subject; even as a child he helped a lot with woodwork. He has also always been fascinated by joints because “my father had suffered from his knee joint for a long time,” he tells STANDARD. His father later received a prosthesis at the University Hospital in Graz, where Leitner now works as an orthopedic surgeon, traumatologist and trauma surgeon.
