When many people think of a winter holiday, they think of cool temperatures and skiing. When I think of a winter vacation, I think of a crackling fireplace, cozy moments in the hotel sauna, pleasant conversations at the hotel bar, long walks in the snow, short shopping trips to the next town and good food. With 7 looks for 7 days, I present outfits that are exactly suitable for these situations.

Of course we need warm scarves and gloves on winter holidays. Cozy knitted trousers and loose, oversized sweaters are among the all-rounders in my winter holiday outfits. They are uncomplicated for the day and casual, chic for the evening. Many hotels regularly host special dinner events. That’s why a chic dress should be included in your luggage. Don’t forget scarves, capes, hats, berets, cozy gloves and warm underwear.

When I travel with my handbags, I tend to reduce the amount of money I travel with. A clutch for the evening, a small bag for a long walk or a short shopping trip are sufficient. For the trip itself, I always have a larger handbag with me where all the paper and writing utensils can fit.

I like to travel comfortably but still in style. I always have winter boots handy because I wear flat shoes with thinner soles when I drive.

My gray knitted three-piece suit is casual and timeless. I can wear the trousers, jacket and sweater just as easily with other basic items. I never miss the scarf as an accessory in winter.

Additional styling tips:

  • For example, I can combine the trousers with a white long blouse and a thin turtleneck underneath as another outfit.
  • The longer cardigan goes with all the dresses and pants that I still have in my luggage.
  • And a sweater looks just as good with white jeans as it does with a skirt.

On the second day I like to take it slow. For me, a hearty breakfast, certainly by 11 a.m., is more important than rushing off to do any activity straight away. So the outfit can be more casual.

I love oversized sweaters when the day is spent relaxing. I can spend the day on vacation in a monochrome look in green. I might even wear this outfit to dinner.

Additional styling tips:

  • The sweater looks magical with the satin dress.
  • A green sweater with black trousers is a colorful eye-catcher.
  • Anyone who likes to wear jeans will enjoy this sweater as a combination partner. Here I recommend combining a color-harmonious cashmere scarf with it. It gives the jeans look a little more pizzazz.

Today we’re going to Mayrhofen, doing a bit of shopping, eating a bit of Kaiserschmarrn and looking out for nice new hotels.

The quilted coat or jacket is essential. Depending on the temperature, I reach for these indestructible tops. They are all-rounders for every winter outfit. They don’t wrinkle, can be folded very small and when you put them on they look like new. As an eye-catcher for the monochrome look, I choose the rose-colored cashmere scarf.

Tonight there is a special dinner evening at the hotel. For the special evening I chose my green satin dress and my oversized sweater as my outfit. The shoes are kept in a neutral tone. As jewelry I wear a long silver chain and two bracelets in green and white.

Further styling tips:

  • The green satin dress can be combined with a light knitted coat if it is more casual
  • A red blazer also goes well with a satin dress as a combination partner.
  • If you want it to sparkle, I recommend a black sequin blazer with a green dress.
  • If you are a lover of capes, you will wear the dress on many occasions with a cozy cape as a combination partner.

My outfits for the winter holiday have to be uncomplicated and easy to combine. That’s why black leather leggings and an oversized sweater belong in my luggage. My preference at the moment is tone-on-tone outfits. Black is always a color I like to wear.

My black leather leggings, which are one of my first leather leggings, are almost as comfortable as knitted pants. I slip into my oversized sweater, put my long pearl necklace on and the result is a great look, not just for vacation.

More styling ideas:

  • The black leather leggings can be combined just as well with a longer, straight-cut satin dress.
  • The black sweater goes perfectly with my green pants from day 2.
  • Use special eye-catchers with colored accessories. How regarding a pink or red scarf for the monochrome black look?

One of my now 16 (or is it even 17?) dirndls accompanies me on almost every trip. My new red dirndl is perfect as an outfit for a holiday in the mountains. The red dirndl has some shiny effects in the apron and it is laced in the bodice. A noble dirndl that is primarily used for special occasions.

I know not all of you are dirndl lovers, but for me it is essential to be dressed in a dirndl when on holiday in the mountains.

It’s hard to imagine that the vacation days are already over. For the return journey I put on a cozy sweater and matching imitation leather trousers. The green quilted vest goes perfectly with my outfit and is simply placed in the back seat for the return journey. When I get out, I quickly slip into the quilted vest and don’t have to freeze.

Some time ago I presented in detail how you can combine quilted vests. The post is so popular and offers you more styling ideas for quilted vests – just for more inspiration CLICK HERE.

7 looks for 7 days of winter vacation

Of course, your winter vacation luggage should include cozy pajamas, warm tights, swimming costumes for the hotel pool, long-sleeved undershirts and various socks.

Before I pack my suitcase, I always write down a list of what I want to take with me and how I will combine the outfits. This helps me focus only on the items of clothing and accessories that I can combine with each other. I always take the list with me on vacation. On uncreative days, I have no problem deciding what to wear and how to put the look together.

  • Are you going on winter vacation?
  • Are you making a luggage list?
  • Are you more of a snow lover or do you travel in the sun?

Traveling is the best
yes, the only cure for sorrow.
