Extreme cold: The region’s tugboats are in great demand – TVA Abitibi-Temiscamingue
Anthony Dallaire | January 19, 2024
Since dawn, the cold has complicated the lives of many Témiscabiti residents.
At Remorquage Richard, in Rouyn-Noranda, their entire fleet, i.e. 26 trailer trucks, had to be deployed on the roads to boost vehicles.
In cold weather or on the eve of cold weather, the supervisor at Remorquage Richard, Mathieu Béliveau, reminds us of the mistakes to avoid, including leaving the vehicle with the remote starter.
In a context of northern climate like Abitibi-Témiscamingue, a question arises… electric or gasoline car?
The debate is underway, but what is certain, according to CAA-Quebec spokesperson David Marcille, is that each type of vehicle has its advantages.
CAA-Quebec is also starting to expand a whole new fleet of vehicles specializing in electric car repairs.
For the moment, they are only available in the Quebec and Montreal regions, but CAA-Quebec wishes to expand its service to peripheral regions in the coming years.
In the meantime, the organization recalls method 4, 10 and 30; make 4 starting attempts, 8 to 10 seconds each and take a break of 30 seconds between each attempt.
