Dilyn, the beloved dog of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, made headlines on multiple occasions for having a chaotic personality that got him into trouble more than once, like that time when he chewed on books and furniture that were of incalculable value. .

Now, Dilyn is once once more the protagonist of a mischief when the story becomes known that she murdered one of Queen Elizabeth’s swans that lived in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

Johnson was walking through the palace gardens when his beloved Dilyn mercilessly attacked and killed the bird that was simply walking by. The former president decided to keep the secret to himself and never tell the queen, however, during a conversation, the former regent made a comment that implied that she was aware of the situation.

According to the American media The New York Post, the story was revealed by royal biographer Robert Hardman, who recounts in his book, “The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy,” that the jack-o-lantern dog russell murdered one of queen elizabeth’s swans.

In mid-2020 and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the queen allowed Johnson, Carrie, his fiancée, and Wilfred, his then-newborn son, to use the gardens of Buckingham Palace to walk, however, Dilyn interrupted the peaceful walk when deciding to kill the swan that was near one of the lakes.

“I watched with helpless horror as his biological destiny consumed him, transformed by ancient terrier genes from a harmless dog into a lethal missile of hair, fangs and nails,” the former president told the Daily Mail.

Johnson, accustomed to his dog’s controversial antics, decided to pick up the animal and gently return it to the water as he walked away from the crime scene.

The former president believed that it would be best not to tell the queen anything. “I reflected that in times past you probably received the death penalty if you let your dog kill a real swan,” Johnson said, however, he didn’t count on her finding out sooner or later.

During her next meeting with Johnson, the queen made a comment regarding strolling through the palace gardens before adding, “I guess Jack Russells don’t go very well with swans,” in a harsh tone.

According to the British media The Mirror, the dog’s name means “follow” in Welsh. The animal lived for a time with a foster family in the town of Merthyr Tydfil before being adopted by Johnson and Carrie.

Clearly this was the first time that Dilyn was in the public eye for causing a disaster with some of her classic antics.

In just two days, Dilyn became a major headache for her owner, first by causing a row in Downing Street by raising a paw to urinate in the handbag of a senior assistant in Garden Number 10 at Buckingham Palace.

The next day, the mischievous dog, who was with his owners spending time on the Checkers property, threw himself at the feet of the former president with an old book in his mouth. A source told the Daily Mail that Johnson shouted: “For God’s sake, I’m going to get another £1,000 repair bill! Someone shoot that damn dog!”

The man got into a brief fight with his dog to get the book back. Dilyn’s antics are known among the staff at the country residence, as back then he would gnaw the furniture, dirty the carpets, and wreak all sorts of havoc.
