Association of Cities Cultural Committee on site, congratulations to Mayor Schiller

Vienna (OTS) – The Bad Ischl Salzkammergut region is starting the Cultural Capital year 2024 this weekend. The opening will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 5 p.m. with, among others, Hubert von Goisern, the Choir of 1000, Tom Neuwirth (Conchita Wurst) and Doris Uhlich. Artistic supporting programs such as the installation “Solange” or the exhibition “Sudhaus – Art with Salt and Water” complement the program. From 7 p.m., the town clerk Mieze Medusa and Yasmo & the Klangkantine will be performing in the Bad Ischler Trinkhalle.

Cities Association President Michael Ludwig and Cities Association General Secretary Thomas Weninger said in unison: “We warmly congratulate the Bad Ischl Salzkammergut region on hosting this year’s Capital of Culture. Our 72nd Austrian Cities Day in June 2023 was an outstanding event under Mayor Ines Schiller – with a lot of positive feedback; “The Capital of Culture year under director Elisabeth Schweeger will also be a year full of exciting and colorful culture.”

The members of the cultural committee of the Austrian Association of Cities will be on site on the opening weekend, will take part in the opening and the program and will be impressed by the diverse program and the atmosphere of the Capital of Culture.

“I wish Mayor Ines Schiller much success for this opening weekend and all events in the Capital of Culture year,” concluded City Association President Michael Ludwig.
