Following last night’s Xbox Developer_Direct, Bethesda and ZeniMax Online Studios took to the stage to give fans a really clear look at what the next chapter of The Elder Scrolls Online will have to offer. The next major expansion will be called The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road and, like other ESO expansions in the past, will debut in June.
The story of the expansion is said to revolve around a long-forgotten demon prince named Iselia, a character never seen in the Elder Scrolls series. As you’d expect from a Daedric Lord, he wants nothing more than to bring chaos and plunge Tamriel into chaos, and it’s your responsibility to stop that.
Gold Road will bring a new area called West Weald, which is described as the home of the wealthy Colovian Imperials and the location of the city of Skingrad. If you played The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, you’ll no doubt remember parts of this area, including its jungle proximity to Valenwood.
As for the new features in Gold Road, Scribing will allow players to tailor and tailor their skills to their own will in hopes of increasing the freedom of the game. Otherwise, we’re told the expansion will include new World Events, Trials, character customization options, rewards, and more.
