2024-01-19 04:00:00

Despite the winter, the cultural season will continue to be in full swing in the coming weeks. On the program: live shows, music and cinema.

Choir, climate change, arthouse film… Overview of the main dates to remember.

The City of Voice is back for winter. 2024 has started off with a bang for the Cité de la Voix in Vézelay. She continues with future training: learning vocal playing, a practice born in the sixties and which places the body at the center of the development of sound (with the conductor and choir director Christophe Grapperon). Another will focus on reading aloud. As for the music, it will not be left out, notably with the outing of the residency of the company Répète un peu pour voir, which will present its show Bouche Bée today from 7 p.m. in the premises of the Cité de la Voix (4, rue de l’Hôpital in Vézelay; free entry; 03.86.94.84.30).

Friday, February 16, at 8 p.m., it will be the turn of the company Les Voix highes – les mains dans le grease to present its show Cinderella, funny bird. A modern reinterpretation of the character of Cinderella in a mixture of fairy tale, lyrical vocalizations (soprano Pauline Texier) and clowning (actress and clown Aurélie Cohen).

Societal issues questioned in several shows. Environmental issues will be at the center of the Climax show, from the company Zygomatic. Presented on Sunday January 28, the play warns with humor and absurd poetry regarding global warming, the depletion of resources or the disappearance of biodiversity (at 5 p.m., Salle des Maréchaux in Avallon).

Saturday March 23, a new event will address violence once morest women, with the play by and with Fanny Carbon, Gardiennes, named best solo-on-stage of the “off” of the Avignon Festival in 2018.

The Avallonnais film club continues its fortieth season. About to celebrate its forty anniversary, the François-Truffaut de l’Avallonnais film club is offering a Bhutanese film The School at the End of the World, scheduled at the Vauban cinema, Monday January 29 (6:15 p.m.).
