The Jerusalem Post newspaper revealed “the deterioration of the Israeli mental health system due to the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.”

The Israeli newspaper said, “The data on suicide in Israel is confusing, with no clear trends that help provide guidance for mental health care and treatment.”

The director of the Center for Psychological Trauma Treatment, Tsvia Seligman, was quoted as saying, “The number of suicide cases and suicidal thoughts has increased significantly since last October 7.”

The newspaper pointed out that “one out of every three Israelis needs psychological treatment because of the war, which is not available, due to the long appointments.”

Research in Israel indicates that therapists here are more likely to refuse to work with patients at risk of suicide, and instead refer them to other doctors at higher rates of referrals for depressed patients, according to the Jerusalem Post.

According to Israeli reports, “the increase in the level of use of psychiatric medications following the war reached 25 percent.”
